Keeping COVID-safe
Keeping COVID-safe is a serious business for everyone offering childcare or kindergarten services in Auckland and Seven Stars Kindergarten is no different. We want to do all we can to help keep our young ones safe.
Kaiako have made a number of changes since opening to our health and safety practices, our goal has been for the children to embrace these changes and have them become part of everyday kindergarten routine and ensure our parents and caregivers are confident that are COVID-aware.
The children have coped really well with all the changes we have made.
One of the key changes has been around hand washing. While this was already done regularly before and after kai times and going to the bathroom, we added washing hands on arrival after one of the lockdowns last year.
This is something we have continued to do regardless of Alert Level or Setting and something we will continue to do for some time to come yet.
The children arrive, put their bag away, find their photo to put on their locker and head straight to the bathroom to wash and dry their hands ready to start their day. This is now a natural thing to do and none of the children need reminding as it has truly become a part of their normal kindergarten day. We also make sure hands are washed after excursions off the Seven Stars property.
Visitors will also of course find our COVID QR code at the door (we ask that all parents scan in every time they visit please) as well as a station with hand sanitiser.
The above aspect of being COVID-safe also helps us remind the children about proper hand-washing and just how important hygiene is.
